In the United States 90% is an A, while in the United Kingdom 70% can already be a top First and 85% is almost unheard of. Canada has no single national grading scale, so percentage bands differ by province and even by university. A common convention puts 80 to 100 percent at the A level, 70 to 79 percent at B, and 50 percent as the pass mark.
